Penn Badgley is a dad once again — or is it twice again?
The You star casually revealed that he has welcomed identical twin sons with his wife, Domino Kirke, during an Instagram video announcing a live event for his podcast Podcrushed on Wednesday. “I’m interrupting my paternity leave, which I’m on, by the way, which is also why I’m whispering,” he said in the video before leaning next to the feet of one of his infants. “Here, look, wanna see baby feet? Just tiny, little baby feet right there. I don’t wanna wake them up.”

In the caption of the video, the Gossip Girl star wrote, “Interrupting twin paternity leave to announce a live event @podcrushed at @symphonyspace Oct 14 NYC supporting the release of our book CRUSHMORE.”
Kirke, who is the sister of Girls star Jemima Kirke and Mistress America actress Lola Kirke, first announced that she was expecting twins in February. “Babies #3 and #4 coming this Summer!” she wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post (via PEOPLE). “Talk about a PLOT TWIST! Spontaneous twins are beyond magical. We are stunned. We are in awe. Can’t think of anyone else I’d rather be on this ride with.”
Kirke, who released an album about motherhood earlier this year and also works as a doula, first began dating Badgley in 2014. The couple married in 2017, and welcomed their first child together in 2020. Kirke is also mother to another son, Cassius, from a previous relationship.
Badgley discussed his reaction to learning about his wife’s twin dual pregnancy on the red carpet for You‘s final season in April. “The twins was a shock. We were wondering what it would be, what would make it new,” he told Access Hollywood. “I do mean this sincerely, it sounds a bit tacky, but the world needs more good men, so you know, the pressure’s on us to raise them well.”

Kirke reflected on her pregnancy on Instagram in June. “I think doula work prepared me for twin pregnancy by helping me stay healthily detached. So much of what I teach is how to let go of the outcome… to stay grounded in the mystery of it all,” she said. “Pregnancy has no blueprint. And sometimes the bravest thing you can do is surrender to the ride.”
