Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes is the latest superstar athlete to join the Fanatics family.
Fanatics announced on Thursday that Skenes has signed an exclusive contract that will give the digital platform access to all of his officially licensed memorabilia.
“Paul Skenes has quickly become one of baseball’s most popular stars and Fanatics is thrilled to be working together,” Fanatics executive vice president Victor Shaffer said in a statement. “What makes this partnership so exciting is the perfect match between a player of Paul’s caliber, who has taken the sport by storm, and the exclusive memorabilia and collectibles to celebrate his accomplishments that will become treasured pieces by fans and collectors of all ages.”
The Skenes’ collection as part of the deal will include autographed and inscribed baseballs, jerseys, hats, photos and various game-used equipment from throughout his career.
Fanatics will also make Skenes’ merchandise available through its Under Wraps product line. Under Wraps is a mystery box program that offers fans the opportunity to purchase an assortment of sealed, randomized items featuring their favorite athletes and teams.
Skenes has more than lived up to the hype around him coming out of LSU when he was selected No. 1 overall by the Pirates in the 2023 MLB draft. The right-hander made his big-league debut 10 months after being drafted. He won the NL Rookie of the Year award and finished third in NL Cy Young voting during the 2024 season after posting a 1.96 ERA in 133 innings.
This season has seen Skenes continue his run of dominance. He is the NL Cy Young favorite with a MLB-best 2.03 ERA and NL-high 209 strikeouts in 181.2 innings.
Skenes is the first pitcher in MLB history to start the All-Star Game in each of his first two seasons.
