A Real Housewives star is facing several charges related to fraud.
Dr. Wendy Osefo of Real Housewives of Potomac and her husband, Eddie Osefo, were arrested and booked on multiple charges — including seven felonies — on Thursday, before being released on Friday, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed.
Carroll County Sheriff’s Office
The Carroll County Sheriff’s office in Westminster, Md., confirmed that the reality star is facing 16 charges, including allegedly giving false information in excess of $300, and a misdemeanor count for making a false statement to a police officer. As for Eddie, he is facing 18 charges, including nine felonies, over allegedly giving false information in excess of $300.
The criminal charges are related to an April 2024 burglary reported by the Osefos at their home, after which they allegedly made false theft claims for luxury items to their insurers.
A rep for the couple told EW, “Dr. Wendy Osefo and her husband, Edward Osefo, are back home safely with their family and in good spirits. They are grateful for the outpouring of concern and support from friends, fans, and colleagues.”
“The Osefos, alongside their legal team, look forward to their day in court,” they added. “At this time, they respectfully ask for privacy as they focus on their family and the legal process ahead.”
In a news release shared to Facebook on Friday, the sheriff’s office reported that the couple “reported approximately 80 items of jewelry, luxury goods, clothing, and shoes were stolen, worth a total of more than $200,000.”
“During the investigation, Detectives found that over $20,000 of the items reported stolen had been returned by the owners to the locations the items were purchased. Further, Detectives found images of a homeowner wearing jewelry that had been reported stolen after the burglary took place,” the release reads, referring to Wendy allegedly being seen wearing one of the diamond rings in a social media post.

Wendy’s legal woes are just the latest for the long-running Bravo reality TV franchise. Her and Eddie’s arrest comes a month after their RHOP costar Karen Huger was released from prison on Sept. 2. Huger served six months in prison for a March 2024 car crash and DUI.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice famously served 11 months in jail over a bank and bankruptcy fraud case. Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast member Jen Shah is currently serving a 6.5-year prison sentence after she pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud in July 2022. Shah is set to exit prison in late 2026.
