Jaylen Brown was all of us when the Dallas Mavericks traded Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers last season.
“That might be, like, one of the worst trades of all time,” he was seen saying in footage on the new Starting 5 docuseries from Netflix (1:56 mark).
The second season of the show also followed MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Kevin Durant, Tyrese Haliburton and James Harden during the 2024-25 season. That’s of particular note given that Gilgeous-Alexander and Haliburton faced off in the NBA Finals, only for the latter to tear his Achilles in Game 7.
But the Dončić reaction from the players will be particularly interesting. It was a trade that absolutely stunned fans and analysts of the game, and based on that trailer, also astonished players around the league.
