If you’re in the market for a new smartwatch (or looking for an early holiday gift), Walmart is currently offering a substantial discount on our pick for the best Android smartwatch, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 47mm — its titanium gray with an orange band model is $121 off, and its titanium silver with a dark gray band is $170 off, saving you 26%.

We’re past October Amazon Prime Day and over a month away from Cyber Week, but not all deals have gone dormant. Walmart is offering a deal on the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, making the $650 watch available for up to $170 off. A rugged watch that helps track activity and train your physicality is an excellent motivator for autumn hikes, runs, walks, or bike rides.

We’ve written about this watch before, when ZDNET’s Matthew Miller recommended the Ultra over competing Androids. While setup was a bit cumbersome, Miller noted that pairing the Ultra with his Galaxy S24 Ultra and downloading several apps (including Samsung Health, Health Monitor, and Galaxy Wearables) greatly expanded the watch’s capabilities and customizations.

Miller appreciated how the “big, beautiful Watch Ultra looks more like a traditional analog watch, and it fits [him] perfectly;” however, he noted that because it’s only available in one size (47mm), it “may not be a good fit for folks with smaller wrists.”
Standout features of the Watch Ultra include its accurate GPS, heart rate tracking, and running dynamics measurements. However, the Ultra won’t allow you to connect external sensors, “such as heart rate straps, bike speed/cadence sensors, and other third-party devices to the Galaxy Watch Ultra,” which could deter serious athletes.

But the Watch Ultra does have many impressive features that specifically benefit runners, such as siren functionality from the watch’s speaker, a nearly two-day battery life, and personalized advanced metrics on how to improve running form, endurance, stiffness, and readiness. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is an excellent choice for runners or anyone looking to track their activity with a rugged and reliable wearable.

How I rated this deal
A 26% discount doesn’t make the now-$480 Galaxy Watch Ultra extremely affordable, but it’s a significant markdown on a piece of quality fitness equipment that offers advanced metrics with a rugged and durable exterior.
