Pakistan’s eastern Punjab province is facing the worst flooding in its history, with around 1.5 million people affected across thousands of villages in the northeast. Nationwide, over 850 people have died during this year’s monsoon season. The situation has been worsened by excess water released from Indian dams and the broader impacts of climate change.
