The Trump administration has been focused on the “war on drugs” ever since coming to office, whether it concerns fentanyl coming through the land borders, or cocaine coming from Latin America. The US administration has been designating drug cartels as “terrorist organizations”, because by “arguing that this is a national security threat, you have justification to use force”, said FRANCE 24 international affairs editor Kethevane Gorjestani.
