The gates are opening to welcome a new face to Fairmont Crest!
After months of speculation, Entertainment Weekly can confirm that veteran soap star Greg Vaughan is joining the cast of CBS’ beloved new soap opera Beyond the Gates.
Although the deets of Vaughan’s character are being kept under wraps, a rep for the show shared that the soap vet will join the cast of the daytime drama series this season. That means his episodes will premiere before the end of December with episode 200. An exact date for his appearance has yet to be confirmed but further details are slated to come at a later date.
“I’m incredibly honored and excited to be joining the Beyond the Gates family this season,” Vaughan told EW. “It’s a phenomenal ensemble and creative team, and stepping into from day one has been both creatively fulfilling and wonderfully welcoming from all the cast and crew!”
He went on, “While I can’t share too much just yet about my character or storyline, I can say this — the series explores some powerful themes, and I’m thrilled to help bring a fresh energy and depth to an already compelling story. I am beyond grateful to CBS / Paramount, creator Michele Val Jean, and the producers for the opportunity, and I can’t wait for audiences to see what’s ahead.”

The confirmation of Vaughan’s casting comes after creator, showrunner and head writer Michele Val Jean teased fans about a new cast addition while speaking with Deadline in celebration of the show’s 100th episode in July.
“Yes, we have a cast addition that I think the soap opera world will be very, very happy about,” Val Jean shared at the time. “And it’s a male.”
She went on to describe the unnamed actor as a “hot male.”
“I can’t say who just yet, but I will say longtime soap fans all know and love him,” executive producer Sheila Ducksworth added.
Vaughan, 52, is no stranger to daytime TV. The actor began his professional acting career in 1996, appearing first in episodes of Baywatch and Malibu Shores before landing the role of firefighter Cliff Yeager on Beverly Hills 90210.
He made his daytime television debut in 2002 as Diego Guittierez on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless before joining the cast of General Hospital as legacy character Lucky Spencer, son of controversial supercouple Luke (Tony Geary) and Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) in 2003.
After his tenure as Lucky, Vaughan went on to play legacy character Eric Brady, son of Roman (Josh Taylor) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) on the Peacock series Days of Our Lives. He’s expected to make a return appearance on the streaming soap opera later this year to honor the series 60th anniversary.

Vaughan has also made his mark on primetime television, with roles such as the charming firefighter Dan Gordon on Charmed and Calvin Galston, the longtime, married lover of Nova Bordelon on Queen Sugar.

Ducksworth previously shared that the daytime drama will see two more cameos from The Real Housewives of Potomac after star Karen Huger made an appearance in the show’s first episode.
“I will though give you two exciting names: Gizelle Bryant and Dr. Wendy Osefo… They both recently joined us for a day on set and they have some super fun scenes that we can’t wait to share,” the producer teased.
Beyond the Gates airs weekdays on CBS at 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT, and is also available to stream on Paramount+.
